Oncology Pharmacist

Reports to: Clinic Administrator/HR and Admin Head
Assigned Location: PIVOT, Quezon City

Clinical and Operational Responsibilities:

  • Clinical and Operational Responsibilities
  • Review chemotherapy prescriptions for appropriateness, completeness, and protocol compliance.
  • Verify chemotherapy doses based on patient-specific parameters including body surface area, renal function, and laboratory values.
  • Supervise preparation and dispensing of antineoplastic agents.
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, transport, and disposal of cytotoxic medications.
  • Participate in treatment planning discussions with oncologists and nursing staff.
  • Provide medication counseling to patients and caregivers regarding chemotherapy and supportive care medications.
  • Monitor and document medication-related adverse events.
  • Maintain chemotherapy inventory and cold-chain requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA Philippines regulations and applicable pharmacy practice standards.
  • Support quality improvement and medication safety initiatives within the chemotherapy unit.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Pharmacist in the Philippines.
  • Preferably with training or experience in Oncology Pharmacy.
  • Familiarity with NCCN, ESMO, ASCO, and institutional chemotherapy protocols.
  • Experience with chemotherapy compounding and cytotoxic medication handling.
  • Knowledge of medication safety and pharmacovigilance principles.
