Generic Name: Ketoprofen
Formulation/s: Each plaster contains 30 mg Ketoprofen
Indications or Use: Traumatic inflammations of muscles, sprains & strains. Symptomatic relief of muscular pain.
Dosage and Directions for Use: Adults: Take off‑ thin backing paper and apply to affected area twice daily, or upon advice of doctors. Children: Not recommended as safety in children has not been established.
Contraindication: Hypersensitivity. History of photosensitivity reactions. Pathological skin changes e.g., eczema, or in infected skin or open wounds. Pregnancy (3rd trimester).
Special Precaution: Must not come in contact w/ mucous membrane or the eyes. Risk of developing contact dermatitis & photosensitivity if used >1 week. Higher risk of allergy in patients w/ asthma combined w/ chronic rhinitis, chronic sinusitis &/or nasal polyposis. Discontinue use if skin rash occurs. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight or UV light in skin areas treated either during treatment or for 2 weeks following discontinuation. Not recommended in children. Lactation.
Adverse Reaction: Occasionally redness, rashes, pruritus, dryness and irritation and rarely occasionally swelling occurs. If these symptoms are serious, treatment with this preparation should be discontinued.
