Indications or Use: Aceclofenac is indicated for the relief of pain and inflammation in toothache, trauma, lumbago, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.
Dosage and Directions for Use: Adults: Clanza/Clanza S Adult 200 mg daily in 2 separate doses (every 12 hours). Clanza CR Adult 200 mg once daily (every 24 hours).
Administration: Take with or immediately after meals.
Contraindication: Patients with allergy to these drugs or other analogues (diclofenac). Patients with asthma. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, acetylsalicylic acid and other drugs which inhibit prostaglandin-synthesis may precipitate attacks of asthma, acute rhinitis or urticaria. Patients with active peptic ulcer.
Special Precaution: Symptoms of GI disorders, history of gastric ulcer, moderate to severe hepatic, cardiac or renal impairment. Patients recovering after surgical treatment. Concomitant use with diuretics. Person who drinks alcohol regularly. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery in patients suffering from dizziness, vertigo or other CNS disorders while taking NSAIDs. Monitor liver & renal functions. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly. Childn <6 yr.
Adverse Reaction: The majority of adverse-effects observed have been reversible and of a minor nature and include gastro-intestinal disorders (dyspepsia, abdominal pain, nausea), rash, urticaria, symptoms of enuresis, headache, dizziness and drowsiness.
Interactions: There have been no drug interactions reported, but close monitoring of patients on combination with lithium and digoxin, oral antidiabetic agents, anticoagulants, diuretics, and other analgesics.
